I purchased this as a USB HDD backup solution to my music server. I was worried that it might not work since the music server only notifies you if it detects a connected USB HDD before any app interaction can take place. It was a hit/miss thing, trying to get the server to detect the HDD. The best results were seen when the USB cable was plugged in to either device after the HDD was turned "on" and ready. Turning it "on" with the USB cable already connected often resulted in HDD not being recognized by the server.

I've never used something like this before, but it was easy to understand and get up and running. It was great being able to use it to access my hard drive from an old tower. Literally took about 5 minutes to get everything going from unpackaging to ringing the hard drive from the old tower to installing and plugging in. Thanks!
