Its a microcontroller similar to the one used in the iSight on a Mac, with auto ISO. It has digital functions as well like digital zoom and rotate etc. The Wifi module is soldered to the back of the board with an attached coil loaded antenna for Wifi. the board connects to the sensor with a 12 pin flat ribbon 0.5mm pitch cable. The sensor board screws to the the housing while simutanieuously acting as + (Anode) - (Cathode) contacts for the LED array. There are two copper rods that extend from the sensor mount to where they are soldered directly to the the LED pcb.

Pro: Very small and manageable Rechargeable Very easy to assemble Very use to connect It has a built-in white light Integrated controls in app and device Steel base and arm Cheap Cons: When you focus, the wheel is actually very stiff and that causes that you unwittingly move the device and put it out of alignment. You have to play with it a bit to gain the expertise. Charger not provided. You need to put the objects very close to the lens to use the 1000x magnifying power which may not be possible with all objects.

I researched a lot of different kinds of these and settled on this one from a reference in a forum and I have to say its been great! The picture quality is amazing and it’s super easy to use! Better than I expected

I am amazed with this product. I am a biology teacher and love using this in the class and at home with my curious younger child. This tiny microscope has so much power and is easy to use. The images are clear. I love this and would absolutely recommend.

I used this to magnify an air particulate sample (clear tape) and found the picture to be very clear and the scope easy to use by placing it directly on the sample. The LED lights are bright and is necessary when placing the scope directly on objects to view. It was easy to pull up the picture after installing the program and share my screen during class. I kept the scope in its stand between classes so it was ready to go by just sharing the screen. I have not tried using it with the available Wi-Fi so I can't talk about that.
