I purchased these to view dashcam files on our smartphones. We have 3 cars with dashcams and keep these (with adapter cables) in the gloveboxes. When used with usb to type c cable, we can view the dashcam files on our android smartphones.

Must have if you take pictures with a DSLR/Point & Shoot. My camera has a bluetooth feature to transfer photos, but they're low res.
This is IDEAL if you're on the go. Just the SD card in and connect to your phone - voila! Transfer all the photos (or any document you want)
at full size. Also, works to transfer directly to your computer via USB.

No connection between your camera and phone? Pictures I took on my good camera on the SD card moved over to my phone and Facebook in a minute! No internet connection for my laptop? Get what I need on my phone, plug in the USB card reader to the phone and copy what I need to the SD card and then the laptop!

I purchased this because I take a lot of pictures with my DSLR camera. In the past it was a hassle to post to social media because I had to download the photos to my computer first. With this device I can take the SD card out of the camera and connect it to my phone to immediately post or send photos to others.

From experience, don't rely on your camera SD card to store a lot of pictures, video etc until you get home. It's usually fine, but if it corrupts, you lose at least some, maybe all. Copy them and even upload to cloud as you go.
