I simply cannot get the Wi-Fi to connect via iSmart DV application. I tried on multiple Android devices, and it simply won't connect. I have contacted tech support and hope for a resolution, and will revise this review when I do, but till then... **UPDATE: The instruction booklet included says to use the "ISMART DV" application - this is wrong. The correct application to download is SOOCOO (just type that in Google Play Store). And it works beautifully, on pay with my Sony AS20's LiveView Remote. I have advised also to clarify that in the product description.** Not really surprising though. Wi-Fi action cams and camcorders in general really seem to be behind the ball when it comes to flawless execution. Battery life with Wi-Fi on is also harsh. Within 15 minutes, I went from full to 1/3rd remaining. Good thing this works/records while actively powered, even though this does rather limit remote control while in the waterproof casing. Speaking of the battery, I did also ask the tech folks if there is a specific recommended battery replacement link to purchase additional batteries. The included one seem like the typical 900mAh 3.33Wh 1A batteries used with the SJ4000, and I did measure the dimensions with digital calipers, the battery facing me as a horizontal rectangle. 28.6mm Wide 32.3mm Long 10mm High However, I also know that battery replacements aren't universal. Far from it, and the dozens of apparently correct batteries are a major hit-or-miss affair in fitting any given battery compartment. So I will update when I hopefully get a response on this question. That aside though, this is a great action cam in itself, and a great kit that it comes with. Color resolution is a tad dark, but very clear, recorded in MOV format, and the MIC is superb. Audio capture is a very important aspect to me, and quite a few action cams fail HORRIBLY with audio capture, in or out of the waterproof housing. It also has the DVR Dash Cam behavior of automatically beginning recording when active power is received via a micro USB cord, so this has plenty of functional flexibility. All the typical menu options are there too. With the Wi-Fi issue now resolved, all that is left to receive definitive assurance on the appropriate product page to buy the exact extra batteries, and then I would whole-heartedly give this five stars as a personally valued addition to my camera herd. -- I received this as a complimentary review product with the aim of hopefully elucidating features and drawbacks that may help you ultimately decide what fits your needs and budget best.

The product was purchased for my personal use and I am more than satisfied with it. The videos that I have recorded and in HD and the color and sound is perfectly captured by this product. It has a 1.5 inch screen and a 1080P Full HD high resolution. It can record a video upto 80 minutes without any hassels and the battery life as well is very good.

It could not be a better hight-definition digital video recording device. With wi-fi function, the screen with Full HD hight resolution, a water-resistant up to 30 meters under water casing that allows you to film water sports and with mulpiple video recording formats. I highly recommend it.

This was the perfect gift for my Dads birthday. He used it straight away and the quality was amazing. Personally I think it is a great dupe, if not better than the go pro! Comes with amazing accessories super quality and value for money.

Sent to me for review this product comes in a modern yet simple box with an inner portable carrying case with separate compartments for the camera and basic accessories. You very rarely get a free case with an actin camera of this price point as most come in a cardboard box. Inside the outer box you get the Sport Camera, SD Card, Waterproof Case, Battery, USB Cable, Back Waterproof Mount, Bicycle Stand, Clip, Base Mount, 3M Adhesive, Helmet Base, J-shaped Mount Base, Switch Support, Fixed Base, Adapter, Bandage, Ribbon, Battery, Cleaning Cloth, Wire Rope and User Manual. The accessories allow you to use them for activities such as cycling (helmet or handle bar mounted), attached to your waist belt, as a vehicle dash cam and if you wanted to take things to the next level you could buy a more advanced accessory kit for about £16 (without a case) or £30 with a case. This would allow you to expand the cameras capabilities and admittedly they are generally better quality. Most will target the Go Pro Heros but they are also compatible with this as the camera to accessory connections at the bottom of the camera is the same. I was impressed with the manual as it was hand sized (most are 1/4 of the size for action cams) and it fully documented all aspects of the camera and accessories very well. If you have never used or owned an action cam then you will benefit greatly from this. Although this looks like a large heavy duty / military hand sized camera in the Amazon photos it's actually only slightly bigger than a match box and at 58x40x21mm it's a similar size to a GoPro Hero, SJ4000 and SJ5000. It's relatively lightweight and looks well made. In terms of buttons, ports and switches it has the 'Power / Mode' button, 'Shot Key', 'Charge Indicator', 'State Of Light' and protruding lens up front and top whilst the 'Interface', 'TF Card', and 'HDMI Interface' are positioned on the right side. At the rear you get controls for the 'Menu', 'Up', 'Down', 'LED State Light / WiFi Indicator', 'Wifi Key' and 'Mode Key'. In use the camera is very quick and responsive to commands despite the button arrangement being too small for my liking especially the 'Power /Mode' button next to the lens. It fires up from an OFF position at rapid speed and it can keep up with fast finger commands with no delays or issues. The main screen options allows you to alter standard settings and these are shown in the manual with no addition information of what they mean and how each option differs (standard with most action cam manuals I'm afraid). These settings are spread across 3 pages on the menu screen and allow you to change the: - Capture Mode - Image Size - Sequence - Quality - Sharpness - White Balance - Colour - ISO - Exposure - Anti shaking - Quick Review - Date Stamp When the camera is not selecting these settings (home screen) it shows you some of these key settings around the perimeters of the screen along with your battery status, SD card In, Time, Date and audio ON/OFF. In normal mode you can switch to 'camera, video or watch your footage mode and you can quickly view your photos or videos with the option to fast forward if required. Whilst recording a video the zoom feature allows you to magnify up to X4 and this standard feature allows you to zoom in or out very quickly. Once recorded the footage was transferred to my Windows 8 successfully with the only issue being that it did not connect fully at first via USB (charge but no transfer) but pushing it in with more force seemed to do the trick). It's also compatible with Windows XP / Vista or Above / Win7/8 SP3 / Mac iOS 10.5 or above It gives you the option to transfer all the data, photos only or video only. The camera / video option is capable of producing good quality photos both indoors and outdoors in varying light conditions. However these were curved on all 4 corners and were not consistent and would produce varying quality photos in the same light conditions taken back to back at the same distances. It picked up a surprisingly impressive amount of light indoors in daylight conditions yet did not always make the best of optimum outdoor sunlight. Colours were not always as vivid as I would have liked and were not always true to their natural colours (slightly drained of colour) with the exception of certain green tree shades and the blue sky. The actual video picture quality was good though with the image stabilisation working well.
