The GOOD: Lightweight, comes with a nice case that you can keep for storing and transporting the gimbal Parts appear to be sturdy and well made Hand tightened locks for the 3 axes (axis's ?) Price can be good if you get it at 50% discount The BAD: You cannot use the flip out LCD screen on cameras such as the Panasonic GH3, 4, 5 (only in reverse flat mode) Balancing requires you to move the camera with the mounting plate held in place with a single screw -VERY Awkward, hit and miss No simple way to pre-set balancing for more than one lens Could not get Bluetooth to work, even with the latest firmware, already installed on my sample, in spite of reading and faithfully folowing all of the directions I could find. Because you must mount the camera flush to the left side (viewed from behind camera) you cannot access any ports located on that side of the camera. This means no HDMI, usb connections. On my sample, 2 of the 3 large knobs for tigtening the balancing were so damn tight I could not loose them at all. I finally got them loose with a special "rubber belt wrench", which had 10 inch arm for a lot of leverage.

I bought this on sale at B&H on a gamble instead of the DJI Ronin because it's much smaller and portable. Since the price is so much less, I felt I had to at least give it a try. I almost returned it after spending almost 2 days trying to get it to work with my 5D4+35 f2 IS lens, which is well within the weight limit according to it's specs. The manual is absolutely horrendous and almost impossible to understand due to the terrible translation. The online videos on their site and YouTube videos by kind-hearted customers trying to save fellow customers pain/frustration, were more helpful. No matter how well I balanced my camera, I just could not get rid of "motor overloaded" vibration and noise. Based on advice from fellow customers online, I downloaded firmware updates, which again was a horrendously bad, supremely frustrating process because of how many steps it takes, how poorly documented it is which make it prone to failure. It's surreal that in this day and age, the manufacturer thinks this customer experience is acceptable for a core scenario such as a firmware update. On the last day of struggling with vibrations and motor overloaded noise, I tried one last ditch attempt and downloaded a firmware update when I noticed one had just been released just that day (1.47). To my utter astonishment, the gimbal was completely transformed! All the problems were magically gone! It was like a completely different machine! Since then, for several weeks now, I've subjected it to all manner of torture tests such as taking it out on a speed boat in rough waters and it has worked superbly! It's a pity that the out-of-box experience is so, so horrendously bad. If Feiyu did something as simple as got a better translator for their manual (such an inexpensive fix), I'm sure they could dramatically reduce returns. Then if they made the firmware update process what it should be in 2017 (instead of 1980s type experience), I bet it would easily get a well deserved 5 stars from every new customer! In summary: getting it up and running is excruciatingly torturous, but once it works, it's fantastic!

Look overall this is built really well, and with lighter phones probably works good. I used this with the iPhone XS Max. It cannot hold the phone with even the slimmest case on, and even with no case it’s a hassle getting it in and out. Don’t even think about using a lens with this stabilizer because it simply cannot handle the weight. Even with no lens the phone was always slightly tilted. It’s not a bad stabilizer but if you own a larger phone it’s not going to work well, you may want to spend a little extra and get the Smooth 4 by Zhiyun.

I have not seen a shipment faster than this. I only arrived in two weeks. excell

GREAT PRODUCT!! EASY TO USE!! Easy to put together! Light, sturdy! LOVE IT!!
