So, other reviews kind of threw me off when I was looking at these. But for $16, I figured it was worth trying out. Are they cheap-feeling plastic on the inside? Yes. Does it matter that much? Not really. Are AF connections needed? Absolutely. Especially if you're shooting with STM lenses, the AF connections are a must if you want to be able to focus at all, manual or auto. At f/3 or wider, the depth of field is super thin and I recommend closing the aperture to at least f/5 to get more of your subject in focus and so viewers can get a better idea of what you took a photo of. By the way, one review talks about using all three together, you won't be using all three together; that's not how you use these. And yet another review here is obviously fake. These aren't lenses and you won't be taking portraits with these extension tubes on.

The middle-sized unit seems to have intermittent electrical issues, not passing all signal properly at all times. I frequently found my EOS 77D locked up after putting it on, requiring pulling the battery to reset. For the money I'm going to live with it, but I'm using these as a hobbyist. Professionals should probably look for something with a little more consistent reliability.

I do toy photography as a hobby. I was looking to get close up shots with out needing to buying new lenses. I picked these up to try them out and wow they work great. Easy to use with my old Canon EOS camera.
