It works fine for that purpose. Probably not as good as a purpose made guidescope, but a good economical alternative.

We bought this to look at the Neowise comet. However, we couldn’t find the comet where we live. We did see Jupiter and 3 of its moons. That was an amazing thing to see with the telescope.

Great little telescope for checking out the moon, haven't really tried doing anything else with it though. Bought mine last August and have had lots of fun with it since then. I use my iPhone to take pictures through the lense and have gotten some great shots.

I got this as a gift, and I am very happy with it! The moon is sharp and clear once I can find it, and I can see Saturn and it's rings
