I purchased this item as a tool for positioning the mold, and I suspect it is under my laminate floor. I have always had severe allergies, including severe itching, and other health problems caused by exposure to mold. I don't want to spend a lot of money to hire a mold repair company just to find molds, because this is something I can almost do by myself. I just used this hygrometer to check all areas of my house that might be moldy, and sure enough I found it under my laminate flooring. Obviously, the pipe under the concrete slab of my house is leaking, and the pipe is connected to my garden hose faucet. Moisture is penetrating upwards through the concrete slab and causing mold to grow under my floor. Now I am testing the mold, and then I will solve the leakage problem. This tool has saved me a bag, and I believe I will find other uses for it in the future. Glad I bought it! Very accurate, easy to use, and the price is lower than other models I have seen on the website.

Our wood stove plug-in has been having problems, and my wife and I cannot agree on the cause. At her insistence, I have replaced the refractory bricks, baffles, fire blankets, and cleaned the chimney... still no improvement. When I told her that the wood she ordered was not seasoned but green, she just refused to believe me. I ordered this...glued it into a few kiln-dried logs and read 10%...glued it into our wood...30%! ! ! ! Yes, green. Now, if we order any wood, I will poke it with a log before they dump it from the truck.

I'm just looking for a cheaper moisture tester for my woodworking shop, because I need to check the moisture of some boards I cut a year or so ago, let me tell you this is beyond my expectations, I will compare it with my grandfather 80 Units above USD and always within 0.1% of his meter. Even if it is a cheaper device, it can get the job done and flawless, and there is a set of pins that is also good.

As an insurance adjuster, I have to rely on suppliers to provide me with moisture readings in water claims. Now, I have been able to use the meter multiple times to determine the moisture content of wood and gypsum board and track leaks in homeowners’ claims. I can see how it helps anyone who is trying to find leaks or see if the moisture has been sufficiently removed to determine that the damage will not get better, that is, the clasps on the floor will not fall further, no matter how much the engineered wood floor becomes dry.

I bought this to check the drywall of my in-laws’ house. There was a roof leak near their chimney, which caused damage to the internal drywall. Call someone to diagnose/repair the leak, but before paying someone to repair the drywall, we want to see if the leak is really fixed. I bought this a few days before the first rain after repair, and sure enough it found moisture in the damaged area again.
