Pros:It's a real instrument, I wanted something like that for quite a while but they are quite expensive locally . It really looks good and works as advertised. It's a good thing to have at home and it's much easier than a measuring tape.
Cons:it won't work too well if you want to know the distance from a corner of the room
Bottomline:It's a well-built instrument anyone should be glad to have, I do a lot of measuring around the house, and I am happy with it so far.
