There are already many great reviews of this outstanding product, and all I can really add s : just go ahead and order it. Amazon has the best prices, and if you're debating between the Pro model vs Artisan, you can't go wrong either way. There both plenty powerful and big enough for any home uses. The tilt-head Artisan series is more compact and easier for most people to use, so it will likely be the best choice (the price difference doesn't hurt either). My girlfriend and I became a little too attached with the notion of the Pro model, and it almost made us delay the purchase (until we could afford it). I'm glad we wised up and ordered the Artisan.

I have used a Sunbeam stand mixer for over 20 years. Too bad I didn't get a Kitchen Aide in the begining. My Artisan handles the stiffest dough as if it were whipping cream. I enjoy the tilt head and have no trouble using a spatula to scrape down the sides (while the machine is OFF). It's amazing how "she" can cream cold butter, or whip potatoes in a flash. The 5 quart bowl easily handles the double or triple batches of cookie dough

This was a replacement for my taller bowl raising unit, that I had for probably 15 years and 3 or 4 moves. Loved it, but after a kitchen remodel, it wouldn't fit under the cabinet. This one is a higher power than my previous older model, works great, and matches my updated kitchen perfectly. Love it. I'd give you a photo of it in it's new home, but can't figure that out.

Now I see the difference! I had another brand model for about half the price that gave up after 5 months of use. Though they have the same motor strength, the results can't even be compared. Beating 4 egg whites took no time and it was beaten perfectly without me having to "help" at all. The other model always needed manual pushing of the bowl to catch the dough/butter/eggs better.

I got mine when I got married. LOVE IT, CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IT. Six happy years later and after daily use, it finally died on christmas eve 2002. (the mixer. really by my own fault...an accident by distraction) This is a fabulous appliance, it does it all. I use it for everything from cakes, breads and cookies to pasta and mashed potatoes. (also use the meat grinder attachment) It is like a second pair of hands in my kitchen. Without hesitation I purchased another. When my oven is on, the kitchen aid is whirring away. The cost is nothing when you truly love to cook and bake and use it. If you don't, why spend the money. I am repairing my other kitchen aid and giving it to my sister, who is learning to cook.
