My daughter loves this clarinet, she's in the 6th grade a d her first year of band. Her band instructor low-key constantly tells her the clarinet is not good, but I've seen her drop it on the ground when she messed up so it'll do! And she got the 2nd highest grade in her class on her Mary Had a Little Lamb test, 99%, so I think it works fine. She was instructed to get new reeds, though, and was told the ones that come with are fake. We got new reeds before she played it, so I don't know if that would make a difference in the sound people seem to complain about.

Nice price point and has all that is needed for a new student. The tone issue some are speaking of may be due to improper embouchure or the spacing of the pieces. Once it is warmed up and aligned the tone issue went away. I purchased this for a 10 year old new player and so far all is good!
