Very high value on these little hand planes. I've taken on my first archtop carve in the last couple of months and I'm accumulating some new tools along the way. I didn't want to drop a hundy on one plane yet even though I am a believer of you get what you pay for with most everything, especially tools. These planes are already so worth it. There are two caveats: (1) you have to be able to sharpen you're irons; (2) You have to get good at the trial and error process of setting the depth of the iron in the body of the plane. Once you get good at the above these hand planes will be working very well for you. But I assume that if you are in the market for this kind of an item you are already good at (1) and (2).
