I have been using this mic for almost a year now and I have not been happier. Well, actually, I could - But here's why. The product listing doesn't explicitly say that this mic requires phantom power, but it most certainly does need it. Without phantom power, you have to crank the gain way up and that produces an unsoundly amount of static noise. For the price, you can't go wrong. Just don't forget to pick up a phantom power supply as well (They usually can be found on amazon for 25 bucks and below). I have used this mic for recording videos on YouTube, and with a bit of sound editing in post, it sounds pretty good, even without phantom power. PROS: -AMAZING Value -Comes with decent Shock mount, wind sock and XLR cable -Sounds great for the money -Metal Casing, Very Durable CONS: -As mentioned earlier, it needs phantom power -The included cable has degraded over time, PLEASE acquire another cable for long-term use. I would recommend this mic as a primary mic ONLY if you have the proper equipment to go with it. Otherwise, go for it. I have been very satisfied for what I paid.
