I needed an extra light outside of the house and did not want to deal with running wires from inside the house to the outside! Not to mention saving on electricity bill while caring for the environment by using a clean and natural energy source. Build Quality: ------------------- Light comes with installation screws and user manual. It is made out of durable plastic,except for the solar panel,made out of glass,and probably that is the best feature of this light! Swivel action to both,light tubing and solar panel,and that is also a plus,so you can control the angle of the panel for the best exposure to sunlight,and best spot lighting for the light itself. ON/OFF switch is tucked away under and behind the light,access to the switch is easy,yet is hidden.Sensor is smarter than most I've seen,as it detects only larger size moving objects,such as humans,unlike other lights that would go off if a cat passed by it! Function/Use: ------------------- I initially let the light under the sun the entire day,so it can fully charge the first time around. The charge was enough to run for few nights since,as it has been cloudy and rainy around here,and not much of sunlight. Installation was a snap! Use the included screws to fix the removable part in place,and then attach the main body of the light by sliding it into the fixed part.Aim the solar panel for the best angle facing the direct sunlight and the tighten! Same concept for the light tubes,you really need to aim at the spot where you want to shine on,as this light gives a small beam of spotlight! Conclusion: ---------------- The overall quality of the light is decent! I did not give it full marks due to lack of luminous or brightness! It will serve the purpose of giving you a small beam of light,however,it is not enough to use as a security light! My advice to the manufacturer is give it more strength in the amount of light that it gives,then and only then it will be deserving the five star rating!! Still, if you're a skeptical person and not sure whether to trust other people's reviews or not! With Amazon's 30 day return policy, you have four weeks to try it out yourself, before returning it for any reason, with no questions asked, and in most cases Amazon will pay for the return shipping, in other words, it is a win,win situation!! With that said, I hope you find my humble opinion helpful in making or breaking your buying decision

 Solar powered so no wiring or electrical cost increases. Not the brightest light but it offers okay lighting output for 14 LEDs. Motion detection seems to work well. Pretty good battery life considering it's only a 400mAh battery. Listed as: Working time: 8-10 hours Charging time: 4-6 hours I suppose it depends on daylight exposure and how often the motion gets triggered but it seems to work well. Again not the brightest light so might not offer the security some may want. Hopefully the video helps offer some idea what to expect. I don't have a ladder so this has been sitting out on the picnic table and hopefully soon will be placed in its final location. (It looks better in person but it isn't going to flood the area with light, it's a fairly direct spotlight of illumination, shop accordingly. It's just a little better than being okay and I sort of like it but I definitely do not "love it". I'd give it a 3.5 if possible.
