We only use in freshwater and so far if you make sure lid is on with no interference from wires, etc it has sealed tight with no water getting in. I didn't notice that it didn't have reverse, which is required to "self-right" it if it flips. I read a few forums where users of this and other boats just glued a piece of foam to the lid and it will right itself every time. I used a hot glue gun and what I think you would call closed cell foam, not foam rubber or what foam coolers are made of. I used a block about 1" wide, by 2-3" square. Good boat for the money, I am looking for a larger battery or maybe just a spare as it will only last about 10-15 min on full throttle, which is what my 6yr old son runs it on :).

Ok this is great. you can jump the waves in a swimming pool. I would dry it with a hairdryer after use. Pros: speed, durability, fun Cons: there is rust on the propellor.

It's fun to use, it really has the power to get up. It is very easy, so it is necessary to reduce the speed of the boat before turning.
