Pairing Name: C6 Paired with a Samsung Galaxy S6 Tested range: Within a tiled bathroom while smartphone was 10 feet away in another room, sitting on a wireless Qi charging cradle. Responsive, skip-free performance. I recently evaluated a Waterproof Outdoor/Shower Speaker, VicTsing Phoenix Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 Portable Speaker w/ 10 Hours Playing Time, 5W Strong Speaker for Outdoors/Shower , and I was struck by the strong similarities when I pulled this Andoer out of the box. I rated the VicTsing at four stars, yet I like this one more for one simple yet definitely positive difference: the buttons. On the VicTsing, the buttons are far more flush and hard to discern by sight or touch... plus being far, far stiffer to push than the larger, flexible, and raised buttons on the Andoer. There is a trade-off, however, in terms of Bluetooth versions. The VicTsing uses 4.0, while this Andoer is Bluetooth 3.0, and although there is no difference in terms of audio fidelity, BT 4.0 is more energy efficient. So the VicTsing basically has twice the total battery play time than this Andoer. That can be a huge consideration... or not, depending how much you may or may not care about recharging frequency. The audio is a bit flat, on the 3.5 star scale in a comparative sense to other shower/mono speakers, but this does have good audio projection against tile walls, good volume, and I have to say, adding in the bicycle mount along with the IP56 rating makes this a pretty versatile outdoor speaker. Other technical sidebars: What does IP65 mean? 6 - Dust Proof 5 - Waterproof against Water Jets (as measured by a 6.3mm hose nozzle) - however, it is NOT submersible. That is IPx7 or IPx8. In terms of general practicality, most non-submersible, basic shower speakers are rated at IPx4, proof against Splashes. IPx5 is the next step up, marking what I categorize as a true outdoor model as it will with stand heavy rainfall. IPx6, still not submersible, is even more rugged, something you can use in the immediate vicinity of very wet watersports (like on a Jet Ski). Be aware this uses a Li-Polymer battery, so you need to charge it up to full, e.g. "prime" the battery, before first use - general rule of thumb is actually about 10 hours for that first charge. It's the one fiddly aspect about Li-Polymer versus the older, larger Li-Ion. - Complimentary product provided for evaluation, yet my thinking here reflects all my personal purchasing decision processes and hopefully may help clarify if this best meets your own needs and expectations.
