Ok guys, so far so good. As advertised. I paired this with a medium heavy action 7' rod (wish it was a match but working on a budget here) and some of your 15# braid. My casting distance has noticeably increased maybe by a third more than I was getting with another name brand spinning reel using 15# braid by another popular name brand using the same rod. Casting small jigs and top water baits in backwater inter coastal areas fishing around shallow flats and oyster beds. I had to adapt to being able to cast a little further but I think I'll get over it. The retrieve is smooth and effortless. I had positive control even with an over slot red fish on. Trout don't stand a chance of trying to hit the oyster bed with this reel any longer either. I can't wait to take this little beast and introduce it to the fresh water brethren. Thumbs up Kastking.

Love love love!! Absolutely perfect fit and match. Its braid ready and I attached the braid right to it, no backing or tape required. When I used it out fishing it was awesome. Such a smooth reel and so quiet. No slippage or anything. Very nice..I can use it lefty if I like, which I do, I'm weird like that. After years of fishing, this is by far the best rod and reel I have ever owned. Definately will recommend and buy again when I'm ready for a larger one for a big surf rod and reel..Or as a gift..Happy fishing all

One of the best value reel I have this year for under $55. However, time will tell. For now it is worth to take a look if you are looking for a new spinning reel. The carbon drag, water resistance, braid ready, screw in handle are convenience few features that is worth to mention.

I'm new to inshore fishing. I have a combo and needed a reel for a rod that I already had.Caught redfish and perch in backwaters along the Texas coast.Handled fish and currents well. No luck yet catching any fist yet from the beaches and jetties along the open Gulf, but I've been pleased with casting distance, smooth retrieve, handling power, and sensitivity. I definitely recommend this reel to anyone.

Have taken it both saltwater an fresh water fishing. Sadly the saltwater trip was a sunk but the reel worked wonderfully paired with a 10' Penn Squadron rod. On the fresh water trip it pulled in countless cat fish with ease(Paired on a 6' Shimano FX). I had to loosen the drag to allow my children (3&4 years old) to enjoy the fight a little. I highly recommend this reel the castablility is amazing and the retrieve is silky smooth with great line lay! Can't wait to try more from KastKing
