The foot pegs have only been installed for about a week, and kayak only been used twice with the foot pegs. So far everything seems to work fine, to secure them in place I recommend set it up to your fit ahead of going in the water, try to adjust while at the Lake and has a bit of wiggle to get it to secure. I don't believe is an issue with the unit it was mainly uncomfortable for me to reach and adjust in the correct position. Installation was a bit of process to make sure everything was lined up and properly secured/covered. Thus far everything is working fine, great addition for our first kayak without foot support.

these are nice sturdy well built braces. I like that the lever on the release is large and easy to pull with your toe so that you don't have to reach inside the cockpit with your hands to adjust them. There have been a few questions about using these for a cable rudder system. The answer is that they appear to be easily modified for a sliding pedal rudder. There is a counter sunk reinforced hole in the top of each foot pedal and another hole in the base of each foot pedal that look like they were designed for a cable or cord to go through. The locking catch on the back of the pedal can be removed by applying removing the pedal from the slide bracket, placing a small flat head screw driver against the catch inside the pedal from the front access hole, and while prying gently against the catch, simply pull the lever firmly straight back.

I purchased this to control a new rudder I installed on my kayak. In order to make it work, I had to cut off the catch tabs which are used to lock the foot pegs into position. They were easy to remove. I brought the rudder control lines up to these and used a small bracket to complete the connection to the back of the foot peg. It works great and I now have foot steering for my kayak. I may go back and add a tension spring to the rear of the pegs in order to automatically center the rudder when my feet are off the pegs. And, most importantly, I would buy these again. One other important fact. I connected these to a thin strip of maple I purchased at Lowes. I fixed the maple strip to my kayak and then screwed these foot braces to the wood.

These worked great in our 2 Sundolphin Aruba 8 SS kayaks that came without foot braces. Easily adjusted as you kayak also. Was lucky to find some flat "T" nuts at the local hardware store. All stainless steel hardware used. Not a leak anywhere in the kayak.

I purchased these to use as replacement pegs in my Perception kayak after a nasty rapids crash where I lost both foot pegs. We were unable to find them in the river and none of the local outfitters sell just the pegs. I didn't have to replace the tracks as apparently the pegs are universal. These seemed to fit a bit tighter in the track holes and here we are three years later and not another lost peg. Happy with my purchase - thanks!
