I just got into fishing and have quickly fallen in love with this thing. The only other rods/reels I've used have been older than myself so I don't know if that has something to do with it but I found this thing to be incredibly enjoyable to use. Being able to travel with it and break it down to where it'll fit under a car seat was definitely my favorite part of it compared to the other poles I've used that only break down into two 4+ foot sections. The only thing I would change if I could would be with the telescoping portion, I wish there was some internal guide so that the eyes would always line up on there own but its not a big deal to have to do it manually. Will be buying a second for my girlfriend in the future

I have been fishing this rod and reel combo for a few weeks now.Very well balanced combo with an exceptionally smooth retrieve.Excellent drag system works perfectly every time.

Quality is good, I like the finish on the rod and its function. Reel seems very nice also. Case is a nice touch and is semi-firm so I would not hesitate transporting in a suitcase. I made a big mistake and ordered too long of a rod, my bad, thought part of the length was in the reel holder and butt. Another thing, the rating chart I feel was misleading. This rod is VERY stiff. I compare this to an old 7' Fenwick rod I had as a kid and used it for King Salmon fishing no problem. This rod is too stiff for fishing panfish. Best suited for heavier species: Salmon, larger Bass, etc. The line span and lure weight seems too light for the stiffness of this rod. This is what primarily mislead me. I will probably keep but was looking for a lighter action setup.

I'm not a seasoned fisherman in any capacity, but wanted a nice starting kit that was easy to throw in the car. This telescoping pole fits that need. Comes with a nice case and some starting equipment like lures and hooks. The fishing reel feels and looks great for something entry level. This comes with fishing line that needs to be spooled unto the reel so had to look up some knots and learn something.

I bought this rod and reel combo for my husband. We go fishing every weekend, since buying this rod and reel combo for my husband I have gone through two rods and reels myself that were a cheaper brand and they did not stand the salt and heavy like this one did. The reel is smooth, drag is top notch, rod is one of the strongest.
